Community Initiatives

Sydney Aquarium is committed to providing education and support to the community about Australia’s unique marine environments and the animal life they support.

There are many problems facing our native marine wildlife, most significantly over-fishing and the destruction of marine habitats.

The sydney Aquarium Conservation Fund (SACF) is a not-for-profit body dedicated to raising awareness and actively tackling some of the problems facing our marine habitats and their inhabitants. Education Programs

Through its school and public education programs and the use of informative graphics throughout the exhibit areas, Sydney Aquarium hopes to inform and inspire in the community a desire to protect and conserve marine habitats and their inhabitants for the future.

Sydney Aquarium has a strong commitment to ensure that the disadvantaged within the community have access to the recreational and educational facilities of this spectacular attraction. This is achieved through the company’s excellent relationships with major charities and the establishment of a number of special offers for their clients. Sydney Aquarium also recognises the charitable and community based projects undertaken by thousands of ordinary Australians and rewards their endeavours.
